Colic when the onset of symptoms is sudden and violent, possible rapid onset of diarrhea. The animal will usually be quite hot, fever with bounding pulse. Dry mouth and eyes that are glazed and dilated. Other indications include violent mental symptoms, being highly excitable, striking out, biting, kicking and increased sensitiveness to touch, light and noise.
